War Canoe . Our 10 person war canoe
offers a great way for a team to work together in an enjoyable atmosphere.
Take the war canoe up Irondeqouit Creek for a scenic paddle in the
wetlands of "Rochester's Secret Wilderness". Or, venture out into
Irondequoit Bay for magnificent views of the wooded valley and in
route-meals at neat restaurants along the bay, such as Water's Edge, Newport
House and the restaurants at Seabreeze. All necessary equipment and an
optional guide/steersman is provided. The war canoe offers a very stable
paddling experience for the timid adventurer.

Canoe Shuttle to Ellison Park. Our
shuttle van can transport your team and canoes to Ellison Park for a one-way
trip down Irondequoit Creek and though the heart of "Rochester's Secret
Wilderness". Paddling down the creek offers a wonderful opportunity to
enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while offering a team the challenge
coordinating efforts to navigate the gentle, winding creek. This activity
usually takes 2 hours and can be combined with a catered lunch in the park.

Guided Nature Tour of "Rochester's Secret
Wilderness". This informative tour offers the chance to paddle a
kayak or canoe in the calm waters of Irondequoit Creek. Your guide will
offer stories of the natural and human history of this enchanting area -
stories including a once might river, the period of the glaciers, uses of
the creek by Seneca Indians, the arrival of fur traders and a famous
explorer, the settlement and early uses by pioneers, and today's attempts to
preserve and restore the ecology of the area. The tour is a 2-hour activity
that can be followed up with a meal at a local restaurant. It can also be
combined with a meeting area and with a trained facilitator should your
group wish to further enhance the team-building opportunity.

Group Kayak Lessons. BayCreek has
ACA certified instructors on staff to offer your group a chance to
experience the joy of paddling these sleek craft. In recent years, kayak
touring has grown rapidly as people have learned about these efficient,
controllable craft that offer unique intimacy with the water. The Intro to
Kayaking class provides all the basic skills to paddle confidently in the

Facilitated Meeting for Group Project. BayCreek has a network of
facilitators available to assist your group in maximizing the team building
opportunity of your BayCreek experience. We have special team-building
activities and challenges to help bring about a growth in teamwork. Our
facilitators can also help with a project your team may wish to accomplish,
such as development of vision and mission statements. Group meetings can
be held in private meeting rooms of local restaurants or in pavillions of
Ellison Park. Please call to discuss your team's needs. |
