This is Badger’s most popular paddle due to its classic traditional look, smooth, quiet fluidity, and a blade size that is preferable to a wide range of paddlers. The blade carries its volume a little higher with a thin tip allowing for a smoother entry in to the water, with plenty of volume once the full blade enters the water in the mid point of your stroke.
The blade of the Badgertail is very similar in overall volume to the popular Tripper model. But because the BadgerTail has its volume distributed lower in the blade, leverage is increased and so is power. Another benefit to having more volume in the lower section of the blade is that if you end up in shallow water you will be able to get more of the blade into the water to better propel the canoe.
This teardrop shaped beavertail paddle has a shorter, wider blade profile making it an ideal paddle for paddling in shallow rivers. It is designed to efficiently pull through shallow water smoothly and quietly. Being wider than the rest of the Badger paddle lineup, it is also a popular choice for paddlers who like a short powerful blade that provides great acceleration.
