Kayak Capsize & Wet Exit – 1 hour (free with Boat Buyer's Benefits)
Capsizing the first time can be an uncomfortable and disorienting event, especially if you are using a sprayskirt. So, we created a short class for you to experience this under the watchful eye of our instructor.
If (rather when), you unexpectedly capsize after taking this class, it won’t come as a complete shock and you’ll automatically know the steps to extract yourself from the cockpit.
This course is required for the Bracing and Boat Control class, but it is not required for the Kayak Rescues class, which includes this practice.
$35.00 / person - Reservations required
Maximum class size is four people
What to wear:
- Any clothes that you would normally wear paddling.
- Keep in mind you will be going swimming!
What to bring:
- Towel and change of clothes
- Eyeglass retention if you need to wear your glasses
June through September
The Second Sunday of every month @ 1:30pm
Prerequisites:
- We have a weight limit of 250 pound due to Kayak limitations
- Ages 18+ (for individuals under 18 please see our Youth Instruction page)
