Ken Altfather

One of the founders of BayCreek in 1996, Ken is an avid paddler who's specialties include Surf Skis, SUPs, C2 Canoe Racing and Freestyle Canoeing. Ken loves getting out on the water and is always excited to introduce new people to the sport of paddling!

Joining the BayCreek Team with wife Morgan in 2005, Dave loves being outside and loves being on the water! Dave has worked in the outdoor industry since 1996 doing everything from Ice Climbing/Mountaineering and Backpacking to extended Canoe and Sea Kayak expeditions. For Dave one of the best things about working for BayCreek is getting to spread his joy of paddling to students and customers.

Morgan Joined BayCreek in 2005 along with husband Dave, Morgan grew up enjoying the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. She has hiked up and down the east coast while completing the Appalachian Trail twice (once Northbound and once Southbound). Morgan has a passion for canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding and loves sharing that passion with BayCreek.

Jacob "Twiggs" Berry

Rental Associate

BayCreek welcomed Jacob "twiggs" Berry aboard in 2011, jacob loves the outdoors and enjoys just exploring. Jacob does a variety of activities ranging from hiking and camping to kayaking. Jacob has a full-time job in the construction world, but we are lucky to have him on-call here at BayCreek when we need a hand on a busy weekend.

Forest Hulburt

BayCreek welcomed Forest to the family in 2014. In 2021 he participated in his first season of Rough Rider's out on Lake Ontario. In this photo you see him working on his assisted rescue technique! Don't be surprised if Forest hands you a life jacket to get you started on your rental!

Mark Snyder

Downwinder Shuttle Driver

Mark joined the BayCreek team in 2018, although he's been a longtime member of the BayCreek racing team. An avid paddler and Surfski racer you can usually find mark training on the waters of Irondequcit Bay (that is, when he's not helping folks into boats at BayCreek).

Dan is another BayCreek customer/student turned employee. An original member of the BayCreek Rough Riders, Dan got started with sea kayaking back in 2005. After a time away from Rochester, Dan moved back and in 2013 started teaching our Tuesday evening kayak class... well, he's still teaching it and we're glad to have him!

Ken joined the team is 2017 and immediately fit right in. After you take a class with Ken you'll also feel like you've known him for years! In addition to his helping out at BayCreek you may run into Ken at the YMCA, he also works there as a trainer.

Nathan has been with BayCreek since 2011. Throughout the years he has acquired many different hats at BayCreek and still seems to wear most of them. In addition to his roles listed above Nathan is also an integral part of the BayCreek construction crew, building docks, tiki huts and anything else that we can think of.

Jeff Berry

Guest Kayak Instructor

Jeff started out as a customer and student at BayCreek. In fact he was hanging around so much that in 2010 we decided to offer him a job. Jeff brings a lot to the table, in addition to a full-time job and his work here, Jeff is also an active volunteer with the Massasauga Search & Rescue Team. Jeff currently resides in Lake Placid, NY but we are able to talk him into visiting and occasionally teaming up with Dave to teach an advanced kayak class!

Jim Mallory

If you have ever been paddling on Irondequcit Creek and seen a white flash accompanied by a small wake and a breeze you were probably just passed by our racing coach Jim Mallory. In addition to being very fast himself, Jim has also helped many young athletes get started on their way to national and international competition in paddlesports.

Lynne Starpoli Boucher

S.U.P. Yoga Instructor

Lynne has been a member of the BayCreek gang since 2014 and a certified RYT since 2012. Lynne's specialties are power vinyasa yoga, yoga for athletes and SUP yoga. If you enjoy Lynne's S.U.P. Yoga class you can also check out her business Yoga Revolution and take some other classes with her.

Sherry Kessler

S.U.P. Yoga Instructor

Sherry has been a member of the BayCreek gang since 2014 and a certified RYT since 2007. Sherry's specialties include yoga therapeutics, vinyasa flow yoga, yoga for athletes and SUP yoga. If Sherry looks familiar it's probably because she is very active in lots of outdoor sports around Rochester. Sherry is also a full-time physical therapist.
